    ReplyDelete
  15. I was referring to your comment. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh, sorry. I missunderstood you. I didn't know this english phrase and google translator means that "gross" means "cool" in this context. :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yeah, well, it happens. But gross in my context means disgusting. :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Dude what's disgusting about the comment

    ReplyDelete
  19. Seems odd to have something dragon related show outside of cartoon network other than the movie. It's always good to see what goes into the show.

    ReplyDelete
  20. How did u make that

  27. This episode's name is The Eel Effect.

    ReplyDelete
  28. the episode must be the Eel Effect

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hey guys I found a new pic of the gang

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think the episode is called Eel Effect

    ReplyDelete
  31. Where do you found it?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Will this be on anything else then time warner cable?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Looks like it's on a poster, maybe we'll be getting this one in higher quality in the foreseeable future.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I even get excited for things i've already seen. So, really, anything that's dragon related I get excited for xd

    ReplyDelete
  35. It's seems like it's a game, it says ''Draw a line connecting the rider to their dragon.'' and above it looks like there are some scrambled words to unscramble.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sorry to be Norbert the Negative but its not Unnamed Episode episode 16 is The Eel Effect
just putting that out there according to zap2it

    ReplyDelete
  37. VelocityTheSpeedStingerJanuary 26, 2014 at 11:43 AM

Episode 16 is called "The Eel Effect". New enemy would be the eels. I think a giant spawn of eels with freak the dragons out into hiding. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  38. How and where did you get it??? :O I really want one!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Looks like anyone who picked on hiccup in the past (especially snotlout) is paying for it, they're all shorter than him, talk about karma lol XD

    ReplyDelete
  40. Guys, if the episode was called the Eel Effect, it wouldn't be unnamed. If the name eel effect was already revealed it is unlikely that It is that episode. OR it could be one of those chronologically insane an out of order eps like twinsanity and defiant one or something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Is it me, or has Snotlout stopped growing up ?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think i know what it is!!!!!!!!!!
the little mini movie posters you can get at the movies i think its the back of one of the posters

    ReplyDelete
  43. What if the enemy was ALVIN. Maybe he is unrecognisable because of his shock in the water.or maybe it is ALVIN DRESSED IN EELS. that doesn't make any sense does it?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Tuff has braids! XD LOL LOL LOL And now Hiccup and Astrid are taller than Snotlout. XD XP

    ReplyDelete
  45. For whatever reason my comments are not showing up and if this one does it will be reusuring and embarrasing at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Talk about karma, anyone who picked on hiccup as a kid(especially snotlout) ended up shorter than him funny how the world works.

    ReplyDelete
  47. VelocityTheSpeedStingerJanuary 26, 2014 at 4:29 PM

  50. Awesome!!! I think Hiccup and Astrid aged the best- not sure about the rest of them.....lol

    ReplyDelete
  51. Can't wait for this !!! We're lucky people, really !

    Off-topic, but related to Hiccup's flaming sword : http://www.arte.tv/guide/fr/048164-000/les-secrets-de-l-epee-viking?autoplay=1

It's about the making of a viking sword, the Ulfberht, made of an exceptionally strong steel. It was very interesting, and you can watch 45:30 to 46 :00 to see a real flaming sword... I wonder if Hiccup uses the same material...

    ReplyDelete
  52. Fishlegs is really going to grow up to be one of those big meaty vikings like stoick and gobber. Snotlout is going to look just like his dad, the twins seem to be turning out well! Astrid doesn't seem to have changed too much, but she seems much more mature. And Hiccup... *Gestures to all of him* You know the rest of that line.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hiccup has a single braid too, you just can only see it in a few pictures. It isn't abnormal for vikings when their hair gets long enough. Stoick's beard had braids in it, and Gobber's mustache is braided..

    ReplyDelete
  54. He has chaged, he is taller too. But he is so much shorter then the others now you can;t tell easily.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I just noticed! ^^

    ReplyDelete
  56. VelocityTheSpeedStingerJanuary 26, 2014 at 7:34 PM

Well, your ideas are original, but they do sound like themes that would be used in the series ;)

    ReplyDelete
  57. What's this?
    Little bombs????? On his shoe????
Is he going to war or something?

    ReplyDelete
  58. I found it on Instagram

    ReplyDelete
  59. In just 5 years

    ReplyDelete
  60. :P Sorry, I read it on Wikipedia...

    ReplyDelete
  61. new pic from new episode!!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Thats sooo cool how'd you make that

    ReplyDelete
  63. Where did you find that?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Completly made in Cinema 4D. It's not that hard to create one. For this grade of detail (around 5000 polygons) you'll need around 6 hours if you know what you're doing. ;)
My actual model has around 5.5 million polygons and made in Autodesk Mudbox. I guess DW' model has around 12 mio polygons. For that I would need 32 GB RAM instead of my current 16 GB.

    ReplyDelete
  65. HTTYD wikia

    ReplyDelete
  66. This is a shot I found clearly showing his two braids, while in others he only has one. This leads me to believe that some time between the beginning of the movie and the end there is someone (probably Astrid) who braids another braid into his hair. Possibly during the scene in the trailer where Astrid is seen tugging his braid (if you look closely) and says "What you're looking for.. its in here." My guess is that she is in the process of braiding his hair to make another braid. Anyway, enough waiting, here is the picture that clearly shows it.

    http://images6.fanpop.com/image/photos/35000000/Hiccup-from-HTTYD-2-how-to-train-your-dragon-35062226-752-640.png

Anyway I know its not a big deal, but its something I noticed that other people have had theories about.. this is just something that I think furthers those theories about the "Braiding hair" scene. (when people realized Astrid was tugging Hiccups hair in the trailer) Kudos to those people who paid close attention and saw that, and more kudos to people who noticed that there was one braid in some pictures, and two braids in another.

  67. Eel i am not sure if you are holding something against me, but I notice a lot of my comments get held for approval and thrown out now. This never, EVER happened before and its getting annoying. For the hiccup post i made, the comment I really want to go through is under approval. If you must choose one, choose the one with the picture and delete the other. =/

    ReplyDelete
  68. Just so ya know, if this whole deal of deleting of half my posts continues, I will not be around nor supporting the grapevine any more. Nor will I have anything good to say, since all of this seems to be based on a grudge you are holding against me. (the first week I tried posting after we argued nothing went through. Not one) I'm not holding a grudge against you, but it seems you have something against me now. I love this site and the people here, but I am not gonna stick around nor support it if this treatment continues.

  71. Is the tale of two dragons going to be from dragons pov? Will we hear dragonese? QUESTIONS!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Where can I watch this?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Believe it or not he is going to war. XD

    ReplyDelete
  74. Check back for updates, when someone finds a link they will add it to this blog post.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Uh... I think it's more to their position angle to me, take a look of their feet, they're standing in a group manner, but not aligned in the same position, so... until I see them in the same position I can't tell who is the taller or the shorter, but I heard Hiccup is the tallest.

The position above looks about like this position...

    ReplyDelete
  76. Is it going to be because of Snotlout's romantic attempt on Astrid again which leads to their dragon quarreling?

For the second time, Hookfang gets on the nerves of other dragons other than Toothless :3

    ReplyDelete
  77. Hiccup is still taller than Snotlout... XD

    ReplyDelete
  78. i found it yesterday, but thanks:)

    ReplyDelete
  79. Sometimes I wonder, if there are some random kids reading Berk's Grapevine. Like some 10-years old who doesn't have any idea that all the other fans here are much older. :D

    ReplyDelete
  80. I just fond this...

    ReplyDelete
  81. OH! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Can someone find that Hiccup pis of a higher quality, please?
I have a hard time trying to find it. What about the dragon?

    ReplyDelete
  82. ikr.
What exactly is going on with the character's plot?

    ReplyDelete
  83. It's odd that he can talk free about such things.

Will he be the next Edward Snowden? xD

    ReplyDelete
  84. yea its weird

    ReplyDelete
  85. yea he was so much cooler in the movie

    ReplyDelete
  86. It's not DW' fault. Cartoon Network makes the for the series.

    ReplyDelete
  87. guys the next season of how to train your dragon is called Dragon Masters!!!!
Wikipedia said that "DreamWorks Dragon was renewed for a third season. It should, as other
seasons, contain 20 episodes and be chronologically after the second
    movie HTTYD 2"
and a new episode description of the eel effect " Hiccup, Toothless and their friends face a new villain!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. John Sanford said that the third season takes place before the second movie.

    ReplyDelete
  89. weird wikipedia could easily be wrong
but he could be too ?
    he is probably right though

    ReplyDelete
  90. He's one of the directors. I think we can trust his words. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  91. oh haha duh!!!

    ReplyDelete
  92. My account is being weird!!

    ReplyDelete
  93. The Ulfberht was made using superheated steel not available outside of Persia...

... Unless you had a Gronkle.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Sooo... did anyone see it?

    ReplyDelete
  95. The behind the scenes tour?

    ReplyDelete
  96. The episode. TW isn't available in our area...

    ReplyDelete
  97. This is random, but I know alot of people were wondering about the scar on Hiccup's chin in the trailer. I just now noticed he has it at the end of httyd in the coming back around scene. XD

    ReplyDelete
  98. The scar was always there.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Guys, I introduce you the Hiccup's portable fire-sword:

    ReplyDelete
  100. Oh... It's really sword... I was thinking that this is his not-used leg (because he has got two types: one leg to fly on Toothless and one for walking)

    ReplyDelete
  101. This makes me sad. I really don't know what to say. I honestly don't care enough about what people post to have a grudge against them. There are a lot of comments coming in every day, so in reality, I only see about 20% of them, which means I don't really know what you've been posting in the last month or so. But I am curious why you think comments are disappearing. Because who knows how many other people have had the same problem. How are you checking to see if your comments go through? Are you refreshing the page immediately after you post something? Are you copying the timestamp of the post (e.g., http://www.berksgrapevine.com/2014/01/behind-scenes-of-defenders-of-berk.html#comment-1219334891) and checking that? I've noticed that Disqus takes a while to actually update the comment thread with a new comment. If you check immediately after you post something, it may not be there yet. If something else is happening, you may want to contact Disqus or file a bug report because they probably know what's going on more than I do.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I think whichever leg he isn't using at the time stays inside the barrel-looking bit of his leg which would explain why theres a slit in it at the front and the back. The mechanism looks like it flips round, I just can't figure out how he makes that happen.

  105. hiccupandtoothlesshybridJanuary 28, 2014 at 1:20 PM

It s done so we can have alittle better understanding of dragons 2

    ReplyDelete
  106. Personally, I was hoping that everything leading up to the second movie would be wrapped up before the movie releases, which won't be the case if this is true. I guess setting season 3 after the events of the movie could be somewhat difficult if it ends inconclusively like many of us suspect it might though. Ultimately, I'll be eagerly tuning in so long as the quality remains high.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Or just lighting mistake. Cause last time I checked scars are not white, and he didn't drool in that scene. But it was a hilarious scene! XD

    ReplyDelete
  108. Yeah but some people on tumblr were curious where it came from.

    ReplyDelete
  109. They aren't white, but they do look like that. I have a lot of scars on my arms and hands from playing with puppies and kittens when I was little. XD I do get what you mean though, like a scar from a mosquito bite that has been itched will be a bit darker than your skin. But scratch scars are different.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Omg, you fight bears and wolves? That sounds awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  111. I think it sometimes happened to me, my comments did not show up at all, or they did later on.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  114. hiccupandtoothlesshybridJanuary 28, 2014 at 4:56 PM

unless you pick off the scab alot

    ReplyDelete
  115. @lilgerndt That makes sense. I think Disqus counts images as links, which means they require approval before they show up as well. That's probably why they only showed up later, after I approved them. (Disqus has a bit of an overactive spam filter and I'm not sure how to change that.)

    ReplyDelete
  116. Gronckle ! *whistle* Here boy !!! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  117. Anyway, you probably have a lot of work with all this chatting we do.... thanks for taking care of that !

    ReplyDelete
  118. I couldn't find the TV special on any tv listing, and I live in the USA. Has it already aired? Or is it airing next week? If its airing next week, what is the title of the TV Show?

    ReplyDelete
  119. VelocityTheSpeedStingerJanuary 28, 2014 at 6:43 PM

I don't think it matters whether Astrid and Hiccup are an item or not, but that there's still that little competition left to win Astrid's heart for Snotlout. Obviously, Astrid and Snotlout are not getting into a relationship, but the two are still the most competitive of the group.

    ReplyDelete
  120. VelocityTheSpeedStingerJanuary 28, 2014 at 6:48 PM

Great observation there! I never noticed that before! Maybe the blade part of it springs or snaps out, kind of like how you snap a toy light saber into battle mode. Oh, that's one connection to Star Wars there! xD

    ReplyDelete
  121. VelocityTheSpeedStingerJanuary 28, 2014 at 6:49 PM

I wanna predict it'll come in February or April. ;D

    ReplyDelete
  122. FirewheelTheSkullchrusherJanuary 28, 2014 at 7:32 PM

maybe some thing is going to happen that will make snotlout start to like ruff like in the movie
and from the looks of things thats where this next episode is going because snotlout gets in a argument with astrid.

    ReplyDelete
  123. How did a httyd disqus turn into a conversation about scabs and scars?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Several Ulfberht swords have been found in Scandinavia, dated to the Viking era, so they got them somewhere. There were a number of knock-offs, too.

    ReplyDelete
  125. *cough cough* yeah, totally not me who is a few years older than 10... *cough cough*

    ReplyDelete
  126. This is one of those books that they are coming in May...

    ReplyDelete
  127. Can anyone find this? I don't live in the USA or have anything like Sky tv so I couldn't watch this. Anyone have a link for it?

    ReplyDelete
