  4. is the last poster valka? is it stoick? is it eret? LOL NO its gobber with a weird frog dragon!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Anyone else think that Hiccup may have modified his arm? Those joints look very Hiccup-y

    ReplyDelete
  6. The dragon looks so weird! XD

    ReplyDelete
  7. What the actual.. XD

    ReplyDelete
  8. XD Thinking the same thing, they're a perfect match!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Its so weird XD I wish he had a Boneknapper though..

    ReplyDelete
  10. With seemingly only one character poster remaining, I'm a bit surprised that it's Gobber. It's cool that we get to see his strange dragon though. I have no idea what that thing is supposed to be.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Same, that dragon was so awesome! :D

    ReplyDelete
  12. ToothlessTheRealNightFuryApril 8, 2014 at 6:21 PM

    Gobber Finally got one :3

    ReplyDelete
  13. I was thinking the same XD! I can't wait to find out what it is!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I wonder what happened to the group of them he led back to Berk at the end of the short. I liked their design too.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Wish he would've had the boneknapper, but I like this dragon. Looks so...I dunno! Perfect match! I was hoping they'd do a Gobber poster for some reason...

    ReplyDelete
  16. Same! There are so many new dragons, its gonna be hard to keep count! XD

    ReplyDelete
  17. I bet it was modeled from this. xD

    ReplyDelete
  18. Just noticed it has tiny little wings!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Haha xD Grump. I like it. When I first saw this I was like "Whuttt? O_O"

    ReplyDelete
  20. I SAW THAT! How is it gonna fly?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Maybe he is adding changes to all prosthesis so it's easier for all of the Amputees on Berk. =3

    ReplyDelete
  22. Maybe he has larger wings out of shot?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Like a Gronkle? This dragon looks like a modified version of a Gronkle, and its pretty awesome! :D

    ReplyDelete
  24. ToothlessTheRealNightFuryApril 8, 2014 at 6:29 PM

Kinda looks related to the gronkle... what do you guys think?

    ReplyDelete
  25. It does look pretty awesome. Although it doesn't look like it's the most intelligent dragon...XD

    ReplyDelete
  26. That's possible. Or maybe it's a flightless dragon?

    ReplyDelete
  27. FirewheelTheSkullcrusherApril 8, 2014 at 6:30 PM

    awesome
i love grump he looks so cool
it looks kind like a rumblehorn

    ReplyDelete
  28. I was thinking the same thing! It really looks like a dumb dragon XD

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anyone also notice the thing on Gobbers head? It looks like some kind of visor or something.

    ReplyDelete
  30. FirewheelTheSkullcrusherApril 8, 2014 at 6:31 PM

the wings are his ears just like the gronkle

    ReplyDelete
  31. If that thing can actually fly.... I will be sort of disappointed. XD

    ReplyDelete
  32. FirewheelTheSkullcrusherApril 8, 2014 at 6:33 PM

    there is a pic

    ReplyDelete
  33. XD It would be pretty funny to have Gobber with the only flightless dragon XD

    ReplyDelete
  34. I can hear him already.. XD "Don't let em get ya down Grump. You are good at other things" XD

    ReplyDelete
  35. FirewheelTheSkullcrusherApril 8, 2014 at 6:35 PM

it will be able to fly

those are just his ears like the gronckle

    ReplyDelete
  36. XDDD ''Like, eating! You can eat much better than any of the other dragons!'' *Grump purrs very weirdly and licks Gobber*

    ReplyDelete
  37. FirewheelTheSkullcrusherApril 8, 2014 at 6:37 PM

yea the saddle u can see is up at the top the wings would probably be under it

    ReplyDelete
  38. That dragon looks dope doped.

    ReplyDelete
  39. What do you think Gobber named his Dragon?

    ReplyDelete
  40. My parents just brought these back from Sweden! (The mast has snapped off. If anyone knows how to fix metal things I'd appreciate the help)

    ReplyDelete
  41. It says in the description; Grump.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Gobber's dragon looks kind of like a toad.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Narendra MartosudarmoApril 8, 2014 at 6:57 PM

Grump can fly as shown in the trailer.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Going by his name I'm guessing he's a grumpy old git (on top of being dumb)

    ReplyDelete
  45. surprised we got a gobber poster before a stoick or valka one

    ReplyDelete
  46. Technically, we got the Valka poster already! :D

    ReplyDelete
  47. I feel this one was made to show off the dragon, not the character (unlike the others).

    ReplyDelete
  48. II The Night Fury IIApril 8, 2014 at 7:08 PM

    AAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAH!

    ReplyDelete
  49. So, we got a Gobber poster, posters of the gang, and a poster of Valka. But no Stoick, hmm... I have a feeling its gonna happen.. If you know what I mean. I won't mention it though, don't want to ruin other people's day.

    ReplyDelete
  50. YAY! I got it right, there was a new post.

    ReplyDelete
  51. That's so cool! I want them. :D

    ReplyDelete
  52. I know.... It's sad...

    ReplyDelete
  53. Exactly what I thought.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It is :( The thing that will kill me the most is how Hiccup would react if it did happen..

    ReplyDelete
  55. Umm guys? I can't find it's ears.... I can't see those tiny wing things as ears.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I see where you're going with this, and it's possible. On the flip side, Stoick's new dragon Skullcrusher seems to be popping up quite frequently in the toy lines. My gut still says that Valka will be the one who dies if anyone does. She just seems like a tragic character.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I know, like in the episode Frozen, the feelings you get from Hiccup and Gobber. :'(

    ReplyDelete
  58. Oh man, I was on the verge of tears at that scene, and he wasn't even near dying!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Aye. Killing off an established character like Stoick would be hard. Killing off a new charactrr woukd be much easier, just like a redshirt!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I know, I was watching the episode on my laptop, and my friend came in and I was literally crying. It was really embarassing.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Valka has a chance of dying also, it would make sense. It would have to leave Hiccup to take care of all of Valka's rescued dragons, and possibly Drago, if he is not yet dealed with before Valka's death (sounds like I know she will die, just reminding you its just a theory)

    ReplyDelete
  62. XD But nothing beats how much I cried at the end of Bing! Bam! Boom! I sobbed like a baby for at least half an hour, I was really depressed after that episode..

    ReplyDelete
  63. This is just a proof of how our blacksmiths becomes a great tourist attraction xD

    ReplyDelete
  64. :/ I hope that you want Game of Thrones one day...

    ReplyDelete
  65. I guess the other side of that argument is that the death of an established character could have more emotional impact. A case can be made for both if it's done right.
It's not necessarily that I'm itching to see somebody die in this movie, but I think it may almost be necessary in order to keep the story believable. If there's really going to be the huge battle with the very fate of the tribe hanging in the balance, it almost feels like it would be artificially happy for everyone to come out alive.

    ReplyDelete
  66. And why is that?

    ReplyDelete
  67. but not in a high rez one like gobbers and the other ridersb

    ReplyDelete
  68. Gah, everyone is talking about it! And I can't watch it....
    *screams*

    ReplyDelete
  69. Can't is a strong word in my world...

    ReplyDelete
  70. Dreamworks doesn't usually do 'happily ever after' endings in their movies (or thats what I know of). I'm sure they won't risk it for one of their most important films of this year.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'm not even keeping it in, I want someone to die in HTTYD 2! Like you said, it will make it so much more believable, and it will prove that this is no 2 year old movie. That children, teens, and adults can enjoy this movie.

    ReplyDelete
  72. No problem here!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Gobber with his Dragon Grump... wow... xD
Well. But Now I'M off.. Good Night everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  74. VelocityTheSpeedStingerApril 8, 2014 at 7:35 PM

I'd say it's definitely a Boulder class dragons, because of the big-bully appearance.
No way it can fly with the little wing things on the junction of it's neck, or it's head. Hard to tell. I would love to know what name they gave this species!
"Grump"... He looks more like a happy and very lazy old dragon to me xD

    ReplyDelete
  75. just doesn't do it justice for me i guess...

    ReplyDelete
  76. Agreed, would be so much better to get it official like the other posters..

    ReplyDelete
  77. where did it come from anyway?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Apparently those are ears.

    ReplyDelete
  79. AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! GOBBER!!!! LOOK AT ALL THAT FACIAL HAIR AND - ACK! HE HAS HIS OWN DRAGON!!!! oh my days.oh my days.ooooooh my days. Someone needs to help me before I die trying to wait for this film to eventually come out. Heart attack. Heart attack. Heart attack -.-

    ReplyDelete
  80. Just checked the commenters board and this is what I saw....

    Calm down Nightshade!

    ReplyDelete
  81. The Reappearing VisitorApril 8, 2014 at 7:45 PM

I'm actually worried it's going to be (warning: highly speculative thought here....) Toothless. Dreamworks' said they were taking Hiccup and Toothless' friendship to a new level. I can't think of any other way to make their relationship deeper. I hope that won't happen.

P.S. Toothless is 20 in dragon years? I don't want to have to see Hiccup deal with Toothless' death....It'd be nice if dragons lived longer than what it sounds like they do.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Night darling! (nothin personal ; ) I am calling everyone that, dw)

    ReplyDelete
  83. The official HTTYD page on Facebook :)

    ReplyDelete
  84. D: Calm down! It won't be long before you reach the very top of the commenters board if you go crazy like that! That's a good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  85. The Reappearing VisitorApril 8, 2014 at 7:48 PM

Actually I thought Grump looks like a REALLY big salamander. With wings.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Ok, thats it, Im changing my picture.

    ReplyDelete
  87. According to Kris0ten on Tumblr, Astrid supposedly calls Hiccup ''Babe'' In the final trailer :'D *dies*

    ReplyDelete
  88. No! really?!? ahahahaha XD oh my days thats so cute! -.- jealous much

    ReplyDelete
  89. Yes! and I am sorry, but I genuinely cant calm down!!! Also nice pic btw

    ReplyDelete
  90. >.< YES! YAY YAY YAY!

    ReplyDelete
  91. I prefer this one. Keep it.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Who is that in this picture? Is that me? XDD

    ReplyDelete
  93. No one is going for 100?

    ReplyDelete
  94. Nice! Huh... his dragon looks sort of like a Gronckle... but if it is a Gronckle it must certainly have very different facial structure!
Gobber looks great, and it's neat to see that he'll have a tamed dragon with a bit of personality!

    ReplyDelete
  95. I changed it. And I'll change it back cause I don't like my old one.

    ReplyDelete
  96. GOBBER!!! :D :D :D AND WHAT EVER A GRUMP IS! :D :D XD

    ReplyDelete
  97. The main way of attaching metal effectively is welding, but it could damage the ship depending on the material. Alternatively, if you have the tools and the confidence, you could drill and tap a hole through both parts and bolt them together. Even if the mast isn't attached, it's still a beautiful ship.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Who's on right 'bout now?

    ReplyDelete
  99. I like to call those 'The Greats'

    ReplyDelete
  100. not me.... OK, now I'm on

    ReplyDelete
  101. The ship is quite small. I could try the hole but it's a small ship so would be very difficult. And I have no way in welding.

    Thanks for the tips!

    ReplyDelete
  102. WHO GOT 100?!

    ReplyDelete
  103. to bad it's wrong though, they all have more comments by now

    ReplyDelete
  104. This is so cool! Gobber looks awesome! His dragon looks like a sloth.

    ReplyDelete
  105. This is my 2000th comment XD

    ReplyDelete
  106. What in sanity's name is Danke??

    ReplyDelete
  107. dreamworks is killing to many people.

    ReplyDelete
  108. ... not Nightshade!

    ReplyDelete
  109. Anyone else notice, Gobber's bottom middle right tooth is not fake like it should be? I'm I the only one noticing this or am I just crazy?

    ReplyDelete
  110. It's so cool that Gobber's going to get his own dragon. It looks cute! Does anyone else think there's going to be another one.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Am I the top 'great' then? XD

    ReplyDelete
  112. No, it looks fake. It might be the lighting.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Nah. Still looks metal to me. Might be a bit smaller though.

    ReplyDelete
  114. It more or less floats like a hot air balloon. Would you like to know the source of the heat?

    ReplyDelete
  115. As a fan of Shakespeare, I can't help but compare the Dragon trilogy to 1 Henry IV, 2 Henry IV, and Henry V. In the first play, Prince Hal must redeem himself in his father's eyes, and ultimately does so by winning an important battle. In the second play, his father dies, and Prince Hal becomes King Henry V, and formally rejects the rebellious lifestyle he lived with Falstaff. In the third play, he must prove himself a worthy leader by waging a long and difficult war. If Dragon 2 follows a similar structure to 2 Henry IV, then I think that Hiccup will become chief and reject Valka's rebellious lifestyle. (If the parallel is followed perfectly, then Valka would die of grief in the 3rd movie, but I think that's highly unlikely.) Obviously Dragon is not a Shakespeare play, but I couldn't ignore the parallel between them, since they're both coming-of-age trilogies.

    ReplyDelete
  116. on his neck? Well, he was flying in the trailer somehow (Or was that Fishlegs?)

    ReplyDelete
  117. Did you know that in HTTYD3, there's a character named Leiv Eriksson?

    ReplyDelete
  118. O.o quite an interesting thing you've pointed out. Can't vwait to see if it ends up like that!

    ReplyDelete
  119. Well, they learned from Game of Thrones.

    ReplyDelete
  120. XD Valar Morghulis!

    ReplyDelete
  121. Random Question: Do you like the Random questions?(I am referring to the people who commented in the last post.)

    ReplyDelete
  122. Did you know that I defeated the Vikings as Mongols in Age of Empires 2?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Honestly, no. I find them annoying as the clog the page from the good posts. But that's just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Random Question (well not really random, because this is HTTYD 2 related.):
Who do you think will die in HTTYD 2?

    ReplyDelete
  125. I'm actually curious about the new mechanism on Gobber's arm, and what it might do or not do. Also Gobber I like the new helmet. :)

    ReplyDelete
  126. I'd like to call them... the people who use the grapevine for long conversations that aren't always related to the subject matter, and that also involve a lot of saying "hi" and other short sentences. However... now that I look at the list some of you do contribute a good deal of substantive stuff.

I suppose it's just me feeling a bit peeved that the grapevine has turned into more of a social forum than a blog devoted to talking specifically about the above posts in depth. Oh well. I suppose if those who are doing are enjoying it it is fine, but I do feel that it kinda clogs the page and makes me hesitant to comment because I don't much feel like responding to half a dozen "hi's"...

    ReplyDelete
  127. I feel like Gobber, actually. =/ I dunno...maybe Valka...

    ReplyDelete
  128. XD, I didn't realize that He had a new helmet!

    ReplyDelete
  129. Could be could be... -_-

    ReplyDelete
  130. I've seen hints at Cloudjumper, but I soooooo hope that that doesn't happen!

    ReplyDelete
  131. I'm pretty sure it is a supporting brace. People get these even if they have a bad leg (not necessarily a prosthetic). It helps them support weight and have better control. SInce Gobber is older, perhaps this gives him a little extra leverage on his massive prosthetic attachments.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Actually after looking at it closer you can see the old helmet underneath that new part which I'm now assuming is a face plate. Possibly? Not sure but you can definitely see the helmet under it.

    ReplyDelete
  133. In the trailer it looks like he has some sort of vizor, so yes, I think it's a face plate attached to his old helmet.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I have a question. How has Dragons inspired you?

    ReplyDelete
  135. Go to my blog, read about two pages, and you'll get the gist...

and that gist is that I cannot even possibly begin to explain all the ways it has been inspiring! I've written pages and pages and still can't quite cover everything!

    ReplyDelete
  136. ALOTALOTALOTALOTALOTALOTALOTALOTALOTALOTALOTALOT
    AFREAKINGLOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  137. With the angle were given I can't really see how it is a support brace since it seems to not really be attached there's the rope but it doesn't seem to loop around it either. It beats any explanation I've got though so I'll go with it till we get more. :)

    ReplyDelete
  138. I think Gobber is too popular to be killed.

    ReplyDelete
  139. How many engineers/scientists do we have here?

    ReplyDelete
  140. Well then. Lets hope the Mongols don't pop up in the trilogy and that they're not lead by you! XD

    ReplyDelete
  141. The rod with the ball on the end looks like the handle on a drill press, but preliminary looks can be deceiving.

    ReplyDelete
  142. How has it inspired you? Has it made you want to go into the animation business? Has it made you want to become a better writer?

    ReplyDelete
  143. I think it attaches by a big leather strap up on his arm and then bends at the elbow, so perhaps it takes strain off of that particular joint by insuring that it doesn't bear to much weight or get twisted out of position... Really, I'm just guessing!

    ReplyDelete
  144. VelocityTheSpeedStingerApril 8, 2014 at 8:49 PM

Indeed, I wonder if it has the bumble bee wings like a Gronckle?

    ReplyDelete
  145. My heart just skipped a beat :')

    ReplyDelete
  146. What about people with machine shop experience?

    ReplyDelete
  147. For me, Dragons has inspired me to become a better writer and artist.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Yea you beat me to it before I got my edit in. :P I agree it seems that it might depend more on his shoulder bearing the weight instead of his elbow like before.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I actually agree with you the most part. I feel like I rarely comment now because of the amount of stupid comments (I.e. the hundreds of Hi's, the people talking to themselves, the post number wars etc etc.).

I admit I used to do this from time to time but I never do it now, because I've finally realised how annoying it can be! Anyway I'm not going to name fingers or pojnt names, but to those of you who do it, ir would be greatly appreciated if you at least turned it down a notch (or 10).

    ReplyDelete
  150. And. I'm seeing the new trailer on Saturday *dies of shipping happiness*

    ReplyDelete
