Interview the Dragons 2 Game Designers

A few weeks ago, we heard that there would be a new game for How to Train Your Dragon 2 available on the Wii, Wii U, PS3, 3DS, and Xbox 360. Now, we have the amazing opportunity to interview the producer and developers of this game!

As with previous interviews on Berk's Grapevine, all questions will be reader-submitted! If you have a question for the game designers, leave it as a comment on this post! Or, if you think someone else has a good question, upvote their comment.

If you're interested in art or animation, game design, development, what it's like working with DreamWorks to produce a game, or anything else, write your question below in the comments! You can also discuss the game in this topic with other Berk's Forumvine members.

Question submission will close on Friday, April 18th!

Dragon Party on the Berk's Grapevine Forum!

You may have noticed the mysterious "Forum" link that has appeared at the top of Berk's Grapevine. Over the last month or so, a group of amazing beta testers and I have been creating a completely new online community for Grapevine members called the Forumvine.

The Berk's Grapevine comments are fun, but aren't built for conversations or in-depth discussions that the Forumvine was designed for. Additionally, unlike the Twitter, Reddit, and Tumblr Dragons communities, the Forumvine was built in a way that allows all fans who are avoiding spoilers to talk about dragons without being bombarded by spoilers they don't want.

The Forumvine also has a built-in live chat system! This is perfect for hosting a giant, fandom-wide dragon party tomorrow while we wait for the clip to be released! After registering your account on the Forumvine, you can access the chat here.

Of course, not everything on the Forumvine is completely finished yet. So we would love your suggestions and improvements! I can't wait to talk with all of you on the Forumvine! See you there!

Final Dragon Trailer Announced, New Character Info

(Spoiler alert!) According to DreamWorks, the final How to Train Your Dragon trailer will appear next Friday, April 11, before Rio 2! The trailer will be 2 minutes and 24 seconds long. There will also be a five-minute short appearing soon that will likely show the first five minutes of Dragons 2.

This is a banner ad meant for internet users in the UK, where the film will be released on July 4. Although it says "this weekend," the ad may not have been published yet, so it's not clear exactly which weekend the five minute clip will show.

More information and photos have been released on HowToTrainYourDragon.com! Here are some new stills from How to Train Your Dragon 2, including detailed images of Eret (above) and Drago.

Finally, a new page about Valka has appeared on the Dragonpedia! It doesn't say very much about who she is, but it does give us a new hint about why she lives with dragons:

Valka is Hiccup’s long-lost mother and Stoick’s wife who was abducted in a dragon attack twenty years ago. Always an advocate of peace between dragons and Vikings, Valka has since lived among dragons, learned their ways, discovered their secrets, and become their fierce protector.  She is strong and uncompromising, but at her core still possesses the overwhelming love of a wife and mother.

Any theories about Valka? What do you think will be shown in the first five minutes of the film?

Leaked HTTYD 2 script pages! (UPDATE)

(Spoiler alert!) It looks like someone found a leaked copy of a How to Train Your Dragon script. It seems like it's from early on (page 29) in How to Train Your Dragon 2. I'm still figuring out where this came from, so check back for more details!

Thanks Alexis!
