Berk's Grapevine

We're adding new stuff.

Figure 1: Stuff
You probably saw the new header by now, and perhaps you've also seen the Riders of Berk countdown timer in the sidebar.

But there's one more thing....

Let's face it: Blogger comments are awful. So we installed Disqus. Disqus is pretty intuitive, so you'll probably be able to figure it out.

Why Disqus?
  • Supports Google/Facebook/Twitter login
  • Spam
  • Real-time comments
  • Nested comments
  • Images!

To summarize, Disqus is basically the Night Fury of commenting platforms.

You don't have to sign in to comment, but signing in helps us prevent spammy stuff like this. You can also register with Disquss, which I highly recommend, especially if you have Googlephobia like me. If you have any problems, contact us.

We hope this will make Berk's Grapevine a more collaborative news site, and much more fun. Thanks a lot for reading and participating on this site!

  15. I know!!!! And I'm pretty sure we're getting a 3rd movie as well. They seem pretty bent on having this be a trilogy. (And I'm not complaining).

  16. Excellent Idea for the Disqus, now we can stay more connected, you know, so now just wait for the Preview, jejeje it's funny because long time ago that I hadn't been so excited for a series or movie preview.

PD: If somebody that lives out of USA (like my case) and needs help to watch the channel ON-Line , well I'm working on a solution o watch it, without problems I have a solution now, but it's a little "long" so I'm working on a fast and easiest solution, I hope that it works.

    Regards for everyone!!

  17. That's great! I know a lot of people outside the US are looking for a way to watch it. I'm gathering that you've found a way to stream the channel outside the country?

  18. yeah well I made some tests with this program and it works!!, basically this program hiding your IP adress and permit navigate like annonymous, so, some websites (like CN for example) have an automatic system who detects your IP, and well, your IP adress show your country your operative System and other things.

  19. Well well friends, I have good news and bad news to people who wants to watch CN out from US. The good news is that I found a very effective solution to watch the videos without the famous message "Videos are only available for US", that is the good news.

Now the bad news, if you want to watch the videos, CN website have to check your TV cable provider, so for that, the website needs you confirm your US TV cable provider and for that you need an account like a TV cable customer, then when you confirm this, you can access to live stream TV and the full episodes recorded :(

    It's a very bad news

so I don't know what to do :(

  20. I have already said about it in the comments here: http://berksgrapevine.blogspot.com/2012/07/cartoon-networks-riders-of-berk-page.html (are not shown at the moment). You can just use US HIA proxy (find proxy settings in your browser settings). I live in Russia, so I always do this to watch videos on the CN site and other sites as well (for example: http://www.youtube.com/user/cartoonnetwork ).
It is simple, here is list of US proxies, for example: http://spys.ru/free-proxy-list/US/

  21. Disqus is becoming the commenting system of choice lately.
Though it takes a while to load on iPad/mobile it is really good :D

  22. r u guys gonna post the preview on here? That would be awesome if you could. ^^

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh, I have a question. How do you make the logos for Berk's Grapevine? I'm thinking about starting an HTTYD RP website.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I used Photoshop, but probably any graphics editor would work.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Um, no. We won't be hosting the preview here. Neither will we be hosting any of the episodes on this site. But we'll make sure that the info on how to watch the preview online is available to everyone. ^_^

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yay! I made my RP! And it doesn't look half bad... ^^

    ReplyDelete
  27. So, what kinds of other stuff will you do to the site?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah, the entire site takes a while to load on mobile. I'll have to try to fix that sometime.

    ReplyDelete
  29. This is all we have planned so far. Do you have any suggestions? :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hm, I'd have to think about that. I'll tell you if I have any, though! ^^

  31. Serimon, yes my friend I use a program that hide my IP adress, or I can choose to connect to a US proxy and I don't lose the Internet Speed, well the big problem that now I found, is well CN website needs to check my TV cable provider (It supose that I had to have a US TV cable provider) to watch the live stream and the episodes in the web, so I hope found an alternative website.

by the way thanks a lot for the list of Proxys that you published, amazing website!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Honey, I've been planning on livestreaming from my US based, cable-provided, CN stream for a couple weeks now. I'll also be making recordings of the episodes (that's the plan, anywaY!)

So no need to worry. I'm sure other fans are coming up with solutions as well.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Serimon, my friend, thanks a lot for your answer the proxy's website that you published is awesome, and well, the program that I use, have 2 ways of working, 1st hide the IP address and I can navigate like anonymous, and the 2nd way I can choose a country and the program found the corresponding proxy, generally the program always choose the best proxy (talking about speed and connection)
    Regards from Chile!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh wow thank you so much, and yeah I know that other fans can have other solutions.
And that is because we are many fans around the world!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. The livestream's gonna be at www.livestream.com/cfdragons at 6:30pm Central US time. :) (If all goes as planned)
