  4. The third installment of the franchise was first scheduled for a release date on June 17, 2016, exactly the same date that Pixar would release the highly anticipated sequel to "Finding Nemo" entitled, "Finding Dory." It's now being pushed on June 9, 2017.
Not that the dragon-themed animation will not encounter any competition when it moved its release date a year after as "The Lego Movie 3" will reportedly debut on the 26th of May, hence the weekend would basically be a competition between the two films.
Thus, it's safe to assume that DreamWorks Animation is confident that it'll put up a good fight with "The Lego Movie 3."
Originally, the "How To Train Your Dragon" franchise is set as a trilogy, but following the release of the second sequel word has it that the Animation studio is already considering a fourth sequel claiming that the writer/director for both of the Dragon films, Dean DeBlois, has opened his door for the possibility of the fourth sequel.
Are you worried about "How To Train Your Dragon" 3 release date or are you confident that the film will again gain box office success? Sound off in the comments section below.

That "Dragon Glow" is ultimate bad-assery.

  8. These are spectacular, and I have already ordered to of them (Dragon Glow and Hiccup and Toothless). I plan to buy a few more of them, but funds are a little short. Anyway, congrats to the winners! The designs are gorgeous and it was really fun getting to compete!

  9. Ahh, all these shirts are so awesome! I'll definitely buy at least one, eventually. The Dragon Glow one is my favorite, I think.

Which rendition? Alex Sheen's, GermanSeaBass', or your own interpretation?
I remember how awkward I felt when I had to tell my piano/music teacher that I was interested in HTTYD and wanted to see it (Blockbuster is dead, It only airs at the worst time possible, etc.). The issue is I knew there were a few goofy moments (Hiccup's stuttering, Forbidden Friendship and See You Tomorrow).I had already watched two years of HTTYD fan videos to get used to these, but I was also still learning how to make a moment feel right, as in how to take a ridiculous or conceptually comedic idea and allow it to be taken seriously. I was at a terrible age to see animated films without my younger siblings (except Pixar)...then again, it turned out I was just ideally around Hiccup's age when I asked to borrow the DVD. The thing that truly challenged my passion for animated films is when my father said he absolutely hated the scene from Ice Age where the trio had to take care of a human baby, clearly debunking any amusement of any rules and liberties in general animation and anything that isn't historical fact. And soon ironically, he said to my siblings, "Why don't you two ever wake up early to watch Saturday morning cartoons?" (except in hotels, I never watched Saturday morning cartoons). When I was borrowing the DVD, I was urged to hide it after they laid their eyes on it once and waited for a moment where I could see the movie without them in the room. I was lucky that time came that week, albeit sound was kind of iffy compared to when a youtube video silences everything to show off the amazing soundtrack. But remember, neither parent was in the room with me to critique it, so I had no idea what their reaction would be when I said I'd like to get the movie in December (birthday/Christmas)- and the specific Dragon Deluxe Edition that only sells at Wal-Mart/ Blu-ray forum website. When they asked why (also while still unaware of the title, which I myself don't acknowledge when I see the clips and hence why the lack of actual training shown hardly bothered me), the only response I could say was "because the score is really good" (but the one lyrical song from the credits is iffy for American audiences, so I'll turn off the movie right before that song begins when others are in the room). It was an awkward drive home, but on Christmas, I received the movie, and hid it among the stack of movies and video games no one asked for. A few days later, I sucked up enough courage to see it again while my mother was on the computer and father was at work. My mother did eventually come (right during the first half of "Where's Hiccup?"), and was mildly amused by the ridiculous character names. She's a bit more lenient with some shows and animation. To my surprise, she was expecting a bad movie that came from nowhere, and received a surprisingly good movie. This was my liberation from the time I rented Where the Wild Things Are, where I was jokingly grounded from picking movies for choosing a film with so much illogical bizarreness and a mental kid (I say jokingly because we were packing for a move after that last movie rent). It is my ultimate story about how my love of animation was challenged. All the years when I thought entering high school was the rite where we give up our childhood shows were debunked, and the challenge instead came from a nuclear family relative. Harsh. It gave me just a tiny bit of leeway to enjoy animation just to hear my mother's faint opinion of the ending. And that's how I asked for and received a How to Train Your Dragon DVD. Thanks, John Powell, for giving me a mature excuse to like this movie (or an aspect thereof) in the awkward situation I was stuck in.

  13. Yes, new dragon news! Even if it's something mundane as t-shirts, YES! I still love it.

  16. Fear not, that's just the prize money some of the artists received for the contest. The t-shirts themselves are only 25$. ;)

  17. My favorite is 'Somersault'. I guess I'll have to keep an eye on Hot Topic (of all places) for that one. I wonder if they even ship internationally.

Ah well, I'm definitely getting 'Hiccup and Toothless' as soon as my next paycheck comes in.

  21. I've had those moments (rarely) and the ARE the best moments of a fans life! Lucky YOU! The funny thing is... sometimes I've been the 20 year old guy bursting down the door and telling someone that they are awesome because they are doing something HTTYD-ish XD Congrats! Haha, I pulled an HTTYD stunt in front of my college recently... that was fun, and now pretty much the whole campus it fully aware that I am obsessed.

Also, kudos on being able to play the piano!

  22. I would have loved to see that !
There's this trend in France, they put pianos everywhere : in stations, in supermarkets.... and people can play, even record it and post it on the internet ! It's very nice, and now I'm thinking of a way to always have my sheets with me ! (I tried FF once in a station, but I get too overwhelmed by stress, so even if I barely take a look at the sheet at home, I lost when I know some people are watching/listening !)

  25. Ugh, your family seem like such upstarts :/ I don't have any respect for such intolerance. Sorry to hear you had to hide away everything ever in the fear of being criticised.

It seems to be a teenage thing, but my father is a physical type, and I'm not. He thought I'd be a sports boy like him, and instead got Hiccup. His expectations have eased up quite a bit, but I don't know if he's doing that intentionally or if it's because I have siblings. Nevertheless, it helps to have younger siblings, but I kind of worry about the youngest.

  27. aha!! XD omg yh something quite similr happened to me. I thought I was like the only HTTYD obssessed fan in my school yh, and I was in my music room, alone, and I was playing romantic flight on the piano (cuz I ♥ it) and then, this year 11 boy walks in and is like, "love that film!!" and I pratically fainted and fell off my chair!! XD aha we were talking for like the next half an hour about it. :D
