A Few New Storyboards: Dragons TV Series

Hey everyone! We know news has been slow lately but we're always working on new editions to the site and even getting some special surprises for you all!

But, two new panels of storyboards were found on the blog of Aldina Dias in addition to the others found on her blog a while ago.

It seems like Fishlegs is getting some spotlight in whatever episode this is, so it's good to see that more than just Hiccup and Astrid will be focused on as human characters.

BoneKnapper and Gift Transcripts

It appears that on the entire Internet, there is not a single transcript for Legend of the BoneKnapper Dragon or for Gift of the Night Fury. Even more unfortunate, the original copies of the scripts haven't even been leaked (yet)!

We thought this was sad.

So we wrote them ourselves. You can read them here:

Legend of the BoneKnapper Dragon
Gift of the Night Fury
How to Train Your Dragon (official copy, with bonus material!)

And, once the TV show starts, you can look forward to transcripts of every episode as well!

New Leaked Storyboards: Dragons TV series!

So we got a smidgen of sequel news from Dean DeBlois and now we've got a new batch of found storyboards to share!

As always, we cannot host them on the site, but we can direct you to the source.

The first batch can be seen at Patrick O'Conner's Storyboard Blog and features an interestingly twisted--and rather confusing--plot of Snotlout locking dragons away in some kind of prison cell. Hmmmm?

EDIT: It's actually possible that there's a link between this new batch of storyboards and this batch on Aldina Dias's blog. (Which is where the picture above is from).

6/6 EDIT: Sorry to report but Aldina Dias's storyboards are no longer available. Hope you got an eyeful while you could.

Next, sorry for the false find, but the storyboards from Scotland Barnes Blog that depicted Astrid fighting a Roman are indeed, fake. I was able to get in contact with Scotland Barnes and he confirmed it by saying

"Nope - sorry, this is just from my imagination. I doubt the "How to Train Your Dragon" folks would add Roman Legions to the story. This was just done as an exercise for my own amusement. I wish it was true."

So, bad news on that end. But at least here's two others you guys can enjoy!

More Sequel News with Dean DeBlois

The Toronto Screenwriting Conference is only three years old, but this year at the 3rd annual conference they had a panel that featured our own beloved writer/director Dean DeBlois!

One thing Dean Deblois mentioned was how he used The Empire Strikes Back as visual inspiration for the sequel. And you thought Star Wars and Dragons had nothing in common! Additionally, the third film is set for 2016, so looks like we'll have Dragons for quite some time!

An interview with Dean Deblois at One Movie, Five Reviews gives us a good view of what was said at the panel, as well as another balistraria-style Youtube interview that you can view below:

In other sequel news, there is a mysterious post floating around from Gregg Hettinger -- who apparently is working on the sequel -- that claims that, as we all figured, the characters are being remodeled for the sequel, including Toothless.

For more news on the sequel from the Grapevine check out this post we made a short while ago on "Sequel Secrets from Dean DeBlois".

And in site news, there is a transcript for "Legend of the Boneknapper" coming your way soon!
